Government Support and Strategic Initiative for Silicon Valley

At this time, the Da Nang government has been proactive in supporting businesses to realize the vision of becoming a leading technology center. Then, Chairman Le Trung Chinh of the Da Nang City People’s Committee emphasized the city’s dedication to assisting investors by streamlining legal procedures and expediting land allocation for high-tech projects. This support is crucial for the timely implementation of initiatives like the Da Nang Information Technology Park (DITP), which aims to be a cornerstone in the city’s tech ecosystem.

Development of High-Tech Infrastructure

Back to the past, established in 2010, the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park (DHTP) is one of Vietnam’s three national hi-tech parks, focusing on sectors such as biotechnology, microelectronics, automation, renewable energy, IT, and environmental technology. Spanning over 1,100 hectares, DHTP offers modern infrastructure and tax incentives to attract both domestic and international tech enterprises.

Collaborations and Investment in Emerging Technologies

In January 2025, FPT Group, a leading technology corporation, expanded its FPT Complex in Da Nang to accommodate up to 10,000 IT professionals. FPT is collaborating with the city to develop expertise in semiconductor microchips, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain technologies. In fact, the group aims to train a workforce of 10,000 in the semiconductor industry by 2030, positioning Da Nang as a pivotal player in Vietnam’s tech landscape.

National Policies Enhancing Da Nang Silicon Valley’s Tech Ecosystem

At first, the Vietnamese government has introduced policies to bolster the semiconductor industry, aiming to establish Vietnam as a global electronics and semiconductor hub by 2050. This strategy includes attracting foreign investments, developing chip design firms, and establishing semiconductor manufacturing facilities. Da Nang is poised to benefit significantly from these national initiatives, further solidifying its role as an innovation center.

Conclusion

In summary, through strategic government support, substantial infrastructure development, and collaborations with tech giants like FPT, Da Nang is on a clear trajectory to become Vietnam’s “Silicon Valley.”

These concerted efforts are not only enhancing the city’s technological capabilities but also contributing to the broader goal of positioning Vietnam as a leader in the global tech industry
