TTO – On Feb 9th, the SMT high-tech electronics manufacture services and assembly project in Da Nang IT Park has thousands of workers working through Tet to ensure on schedule.
Electronics Manufacture Services: Pioneering High-Tech SMT Electronics Assembly in Da Nang
Le Minh Hoa, a worker from Thanh Hoa, shared his experience: “When encouraged by our superiors to contribute to the project’s progress, we work diligently. Working during Tet holidays allows us to earn 2 to 3 times our usual wage, and the investor also organizes Tet celebrations at the construction site, helping reduce homesickness,”
Danang IT Park and Trung Nam Group have developed this project, aiming to focus on high-tech electronics manufacturing and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly. Specifically, the facility spans 2,000 m² and features a two-story factory. In addition, it houses three SMT production lines, all equipped with advanced technology from global leaders such as Yamaha, Heller, and Ersa. As a result, the facility is well-equipped to meet the growing demand for high-quality electronics manufacturing. With an expected output of 7 million products per year, this facility aims to foster high-tech electronics production, precision engineering, and the growth of supporting industries in Vietnam.
The SMT electronics manufacturing services project is, therefore, a pioneering investment project in Da Nang and the Central Highlands, especially in the fields of information technology and high technology. This project will enable full autonomy in the research, manufacture, and assembly of electronic boards and equipment. Notably, it will be operated and managed entirely by Vietnamese engineers, experts, and skilled workers.
High-Tech Industry with SMT Technology
The SMT technology at this facility enables highly automated production, boosting productivity and flexibility in adjusting product specifications. The versatile electronic boards produced are in high demand across various industries worldwide. Mr. Nguyen Anh Huy, Director of Da Nang IT Park, notes that SMT technology improves operational efficiency and meets the growing global need for electronic boards.
The Danang IT Park project aligns with the shifting global supply chain trends, positioning Vietnam as an attractive investment destination. As part of their commitment to these advancements, the project aims to develop the necessary infrastructure and machinery, enabling investors to rapidly deploy their work.
Expanding Electronics Manufacture Services in Vietnam
Trung Nam Group’s EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) division has already garnered significant attention from both domestic and international clients. The group plans to meet the growing demand and fulfill large-scale orders. Therefore, they invest in two additional manufacturing plants. Along with this, they will add 16 SMT lines and 25 Mechanical Assembly lines, all of which are slated for completion by the end of 2021. Hopefully, these investments will enable Trung Nam Group to expand its capacity and better serve both current and future clients.
After COVID-19, Da Nang shifted its focus to developing IT and high-tech industries. This orientation is attracting leading global companies to its Hi-Tech and IT Parks in Hoa Lien commune. Major international investors, including Korea’s LG Group, UAC Co., Ltd., and several Japanese technology corporations have already committed.
This strategic move enhances Vietnam’s role in global electronics manufacturing and supports long-term economic growth.
